On the one hand, I totally agree that harassment is a problem.

On the other hand, the difference between being chubby and actually fat is that fat women are harassed fairly regularly every time we leave the house. Complete strangers want to comment on what we eat for lunch or how we look, and these comments generally suggest that we deserve to be dead.

Also, I appreciate the author’s weight loss journey has been meaningful to her. But hello, some of your readers are likely fat, and how do you think your casual in-the-know references to weight make us feel?

And how absurdly self-centered do you have to be to not realize many if not most of us don’t have access to weight loss like you do?
